The couple started dating in 2020, with the marriage proposal being made in December of that year. To the public, the engagement was only revealed in 2021. During the podcast, Rodgers also stated that he believes the actress's decision to accept the marriage proposal may have occurred due to pressure, adding more controversial details to the player's version of the breakup.
