The Portuguese footwear industry faces "deep pressure" in the international scenario, according to warning from sectoral association APICCAPS. The position achieved by the sector does not allow "any complacency" facing current challenges.
International conflicts are affecting Portuguese companies' access to luxury markets, creating significant obstacles for the sector. This situation puts at risk part of the progress achieved by the national footwear industry.
The association representing footwear, components and leather goods industrialists warned of the need for vigilance facing the adverse global economic environment, which continues to exert pressure on the Portuguese export sector.
