Banco BPI issued debt totaling 900 million euros, thus proceeding with a significant financing operation. The issuance was divided into two distinct tranches, each with its own maturity and repayment characteristics.
The first issuance amounts to 500 million euros with a scheduled maturity in 2031, and an optional early repayment option available as early as 2030. The second tranche is 450 million euros, with maturity set for 2032 and optional repayment in 2031.
This operation allows BPI to strengthen its capital and liquidity structure, using the debt market to raise financing from institutional investors. The division into two issuances with different maturities offers flexibility for both the bank and the bondholders.
With this issuance, BPI joins other financial institutions that have turned to the debt market to optimize their financing conditions in anticipation of potential movements in the capital markets.
