The University of Évora began the 2026/2027 academic year with a strengthened commitment to promoting healthy, sustainable, and inclusive food. The university's Social Action Services are transforming the canteens into spaces for learning about and valorizing food culture.
Among the main innovations implemented, the weekly integration of the Mediterranean Diet in the canteens stands out. This food model is deeply connected to the Alentejo territory and is widely recognized for its benefits for both health and the environment.
This initiative positions the university as a space for innovation in promoting healthy eating habits, simultaneously contributing to the valorization of the cultural heritage of the Alentejo region and to raising environmental awareness among students.
