American rapper Macklemore has been removed from Ed Sheeran's tour in the United States. The artist was set to open eight of the ten remaining concerts on the "Loop Tour", but was ultimately removed from the lineup of the shows.
The decision came after Macklemore displayed images of the devastation caused by Israeli attacks in Gaza during the first show of the tour. The projection of these conflict images caused controversy and is believed to have led to his exclusion from the rest of the tour.
Macklemore is known for using his musical platform to address political and social issues, having shown support for the Palestinian cause on several occasions. This is not the first time the rapper has used his concerts to make political statements about the conflict in Gaza.
