A woman identified as Bali Maroti Talikote lost part of her scalp after her hair got caught in the gear of a ride at a park created for a festival in Phulsawangi, Maharashtra, India. The incident occurred last Friday (11/9).

Viral images show Bali with blood running down her head as her scalp was slowly torn off in front of hundreds of attendees at the amusement park. Festival attendees screamed, pointed, and desperately tried to help the victim as the horror scene unfolded.

Despite the screams of horror, the wheel continued moving after Bali's hair was pulled with such force that a large part of her scalp was torn off. The woman can still be seen caught in the machinery as spectators crowded around the ride.

Police were called to the scene and people participating in the festival managed to free Bali from the machinery when the ride finally stopped, according to information published by the Sun newspaper.

Why this matters

This incident highlights serious safety failures at improvised amusement parks during festivals in India, where rides often operate without proper regulation. Readers who attend festivals or amusement parks in the region should be aware of the potential risks and the importance of checking safety conditions before using mechanical rides.
