INOVC+ project funds four new Proof of Concept projects

The INOVC+ project, promoted by Ubinnovative Tech Transfer at the University of Beira Interior, announced the four winning projects of the II edition of the Ignition and Proof of Concept Projects competition. Six applications were received, and the jury selected the projects Sensiflex AX, Air Shield, Sulfadipo, and Tas2Brain, evaluated according to their commercial potential, technological innovation, feasibility, and research team.

The Sensiflex AX and Air Shield projects are developed by researchers Martim Aguiar and Pedro Dinis Gaspar, both from C-MAST. Sensiflex AX consists of the development of ultra-flexible and self-sensing mechanical claws for handling fragile products, while Air Shield refers to a modular and portable device for disinfecting recirculated air in industrial cold chains.

The Sulfadipo project, by researcher Mariana Feijó from RISE-Health, aims to create a topical solution to assist in inflammation processes and adipose tissue imbalance. The Tas2Brain project, led by Ana Catarina Duarte, also from RISE-Health, consists of developing a device for drug delivery to the central nervous system.

Each project will receive a prize of 4,000.00 euros for the acquisition of consumables, equipment, and consulting services. The competition is part of the INOVC+ project, co-funded by Portugal 2030 and the European Union, which aims to position the Centro Region as a reference in innovation and technology transfer.
