The Tupperware industrial unit in Montalvo, which employed around 260 workers, is back on the auction block for 10 million euros. The factory stopped production at the beginning of last year, after the withdrawal of production and commercialization licenses for the brand in Portugal.
The company was declared insolvent following the loss of these licenses, which were withdrawn by the American brand Tupperware. The manufacturing facility, which can now be acquired by retail sector buyers, remains available on the judicial sales market.
The factory's closure represented a significant blow to the local economy of the Montalvo region, leaving hundreds of workers without their jobs. The new sale attempt comes at a time when the search is on for a buyer interested in maintaining industrial activity at the site or adapting the space for other commercial purposes.
