A study published in the prestigious journal Nature Medicine, developed by specialists from Stanford University, managed to mathematically identify when the human biological clock begins to accelerate. The research analyzed the blood plasma of 4,263 donors aged between 18 and 95 years, focusing on the proteins present in the plasma, described by the researchers as the fundamental motors of the organism's cells.
The scientific team, led by researcher Tony Wyss-Coray, concluded that from the age of 34 the body begins to show clear signs of physical deterioration. The study suggests that the internal aging process begins much earlier than we can normally perceive visually, even when external signs are not yet apparent.
The research divided aging into three distinct phases, with specific milestones at 34, 60, and 78 years. These data represent a significant contribution to understanding the biological mechanisms of aging, allowing for a more precise mapping of how and when the human body begins to decline at different stages of life.
