A United States Air Force military member, identified only as "Bravo," spoke for the first time since his rescue in an interview with CBS News' "60 Minutes" program, aired on Sunday. His aircraft was shot down over Iran in April, and he described the moments when he fell toward the ground with a damaged parachute. "When I looked up and didn't see any parachute, it was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen," he stated, highlighting that the equipment was damaged after the aircraft was hit.
Bravo called his survival "a miracle" and explained that he spent approximately 50 hours hiding until he was rescued by US special forces. During the fall, he was not focused on the speed at which he was descending, but rather on trying to fix the problems he faced and do anything he could to open or release parts of the parachute. "Free fall" is a good way to describe it," he said.
