The Intermunicipal Community of Médio Tejo expressed interest in joining the Government's pilot project for wild boar population control. This intention was communicated by the CIM do Médio Tejo, which represents 11 municipalities in the region.
The 11 municipalities covered are: Abrantes, Alcanena, Constância, Entroncamento, Ferreira do Zêzere, Mação, Ourém, Sardoal, Tomar, Torres Novas and Vila Nova da Barquinha.
The concrete measures to be implemented, the specific territories to be covered by the pilot program, or the rules that will regulate this wild boar control initiative are not yet known.
Médio Tejo is one of the regions most affected by wild boar-related problems, having been one of the first intermunicipal communities to express interest in joining the Government's program.
