An Iranian influencer named Marzieh Ebrahimi Shamsabadi, 33 years old, known as Sevda, has been sentenced to death on charges of having "insulted" Iran's Supreme Leader. She is detained at Bandar Abbas prison after being arrested at the beginning of this year.
Before being detained and sentenced, the influencer left a powerful final message for her approximately 10,000 followers on Instagram, posted on February 23rd. In the post, Sevda wrote: "If one day I leave this world, know only one thing: I chose the path I believed in." The message appeared over a black background, accompanied by images of a white dove and a red rose.
The influencer's message ended up becoming prophetic, as Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a bombing by US and Israeli forces five days after her post, on February 28th. The context of Sevda's conviction is linked to her opposition to the Iranian Supreme Leader.
