The GNR from Valença began its search this Monday, around 12:00, for a 71-year-old woman who reportedly disappeared on Saturday at 06:00, in the parish of Cerdal, in the municipality of Valença. After the alert was raised, the GNR mobilized resources to the area, and the circumstances of the disappearance remain unclear.
In the search operation, by 15:00, 14 personnel and six vehicles were involved, including members of the Volunteer Firefighters of Valença, who were called in at 13:40, and GNR military personnel.
The Territorial Command of the GNR of Viana do Castelo is coordinating the search operations, and no further details about the case have been released.
The article also notes that on September 2nd, a 68-year-old woman from the shelter where she lived in Rubiães, in the municipality of Paredes de Coura, district of Viana do Castelo, was reported missing. This woman, who suffered from "mental health issues related to Alzheimer's disease," has still not been found.
