The Bank for International Settlements issued an alert about the sharp rise in sovereign bond yields, particularly at longer maturities, which represents a significant risk for global financial markets.
The organization also highlights the presence of greater volatility in sovereign debt markets, which increases uncertainty for investors and may amplify abrupt movements in bond prices.
One of the main concerns expressed by the BIS relates to the exposure of high-risk funds to sovereign debt, which may amplify risks in the event of a deterioration in market conditions.
Additionally, the report states that foreign exchange intervention played an important role in curbing the yen's depreciation, helping to stabilize the Japanese currency in a context of pressure on foreign exchange markets.
