Iniciativa Liberal (IL) accused PSD of "trying to buy votes of Portuguese people" with the income tax cut proposal, classifying it as an "electoral raffle". The parliamentary leader of IL considered that this measure is not a true tax reform.
The parliamentary leader of IL stated that the country is "unreformable" due to the existence of a majority of "stallers" in Parliament, which she designated as "the nation-stallers". This statement comes in the context of a political blockade to the reforms that IL advocates.
IL has been a critical voice regarding the fiscal policies of the government and the main political forces, considering that tax cut proposals are populist and do not represent structural solutions for the Portuguese economy.
