Quaest: Bolsonaro narrows the gap with Lula in the first round and leads in the second

The new Quaest presidential poll, released on Monday (14), shows that the PL candidate for President, Bolsonaro, has reduced the distance from PT candidate Lula in the first-round survey. The senator now has 31% of valid votes, while Lula appears with 36%. In the previous poll, from September 7, Lula had 36% and Bolsonaro appeared with 29%.

In the second-round scenario, the survey indicates a technical tie, with Bolsonaro at 42% against 40% for the PT candidate. This is the first poll since the Supreme Federal Court lifted the secrecy of the Master case.

The Quaest institute conducted the interviews between Friday and Sunday, taking into account in the questionnaire the recent clashes between ministers Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça. Undecided voters represent 10% of the total.

Among the other candidates, Augusto Cury (Avante) fell from 8% to 7%, while Renan Santos (Missão) and Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) rose from 3% to 4%. Romeu Zema (NOVO) fell from 2% to 1%.
