PSP found a 9-year-old abandoned child in Benfica. The boy was located and subsequently returned to his mother, after the entire intervention process.
The Child and Youth Protection Commission (CPCJ) was notified about the situation, having been involved in the follow-up process of the case.
Psychologists from INEM also intervened in this case, providing psychological support during the process.
Residents in the Benfica area become alert to the issue of child abandonment, a problem that can affect any family. The coordinated intervention between PSP, CPCJ and INEM demonstrates the importance of reporting risk situations and of the multidisciplinary response in the protection of minors.
