Pastor Arival Dias Casimiro left his position as head of Pinheiros Presbyterian Church (IPP) after reaching a settlement in Labor Court with a former employee who accused him of harassment and spiritual abuse. The church published a statement on Saturday stating that the case was concluded through a settlement, in which any recognition of the practice of harassment was expressly excluded. However, the former employee's defense denies that the accusations against the pastor were withdrawn.
According to the court records, the IPP reached a R$ 106 thousand settlement with the former employee. The case was taken to court in May 2025, after she reported being approached by Arival through messages deemed inappropriate. The church classified the messages sent by the reverend as "inopportune, inappropriate, and unfortunate."
Pastor Arival Dias Casimiro was the head of Pinheiros Presbyterian Church, one of the most well-known Presbyterian churches in Brazil.
