Fenprof, the National Federation of Teachers, revealed that almost two-thirds of schools in Portugal were affected by the lack of teachers. According to a study conducted, 63.7% of schools felt the effects of the teacher shortage, demonstrating the severity of the situation in the education sector.
The federation warned that the scarcity of teachers continues to be a significant problem for the Portuguese educational system. The study data shows that the lack of teachers had a direct impact on numerous educational institutions across the country.
Regarding the near future, one-third of school administrations anticipates difficulties for the 2026/2027 school year. This prediction raises concerns about the educational system's capacity to ensure adequate teaching conditions in the coming years.
