A group of tax and customs inspectors in probationary period sent an exposure to the finance minister, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, requesting his urgent intervention regarding the absence of homologation of the Specific Training Course (CFE). The professionals alert to the direct impacts on the professional and personal stability of their careers.
In the letter, with knowledge to the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs, the inspectors denounce being "for almost two years" in probationary period, exercising duties in the field without certainty about their future at the Tax and Customs Authority (AT). The professionals joined the AT in September 2024, after a process that involved 43 weeks of practical training, 12 weeks of theoretical training and four written exams.
The group claims that, although the last exam of the "1st edition" took place in December and the draft final classification list was notified on January 15, after the prior hearing period ended on January 29, they face "total silence from the jury." The inspectors point to several harms, including the fact that the employment statements maintain the mention of "probationary period ongoing," which impacts the assumption of commitments with banking institutions.
Furthermore, they criticize the performance of work without fixed objectives in SIADAP, the risk of evaluation "at the minimum," the "obscure" nature of the provisional placement and the delay in homologation that blocks access to definitive placement, movement procedures, management competitions and the counting of the five-year permanence obligation at the AT.
