The parliamentary leader of Iniciativa Liberal (IL) stated today that there is a "majority of do-nothings" preventing reforms in Portugal. In his statements, the IL leader criticized the current political situation and pointed the finger at the main parties.
IL accused the PSD of "trying to buy the vote of the Portuguese" through its policy proposals. The liberals consider that PSD initiatives do not represent true reforms, but rather strategies to gain electoral support.
The liberal-right party also characterized PSD proposals as an "electoral raffle," referring specifically to the IRS reduction. This expression suggests that IL considers the measure as something random or demagogic, rather than a structural solution to the tax system.
Regarding other parties, IL accused Chega of being "afraid" of certain political positions. In relation to PS, the party was described as "political mothballs," in reference to its apparent immobility or outdatedness in facing the country's current challenges.
