Manifesta 17 will take place in Coimbra in 2028, representing the arrival of this prestigious European biennial of contemporary art to the Portuguese city. This event marks a significant opportunity for Coimbra to position itself in the international arts circuit.
The project for the 2028 edition presents priorities centered on three distinct areas of the city: Baixa, Alta and Rua da Sofia. These areas have been identified as priority zones for the implementation of the activities and artistic interventions that characterize Manifesta.
The organization is moving forward with preparations for this biennial, which traditionally takes place in different European cities each edition. Coimbra thus joins other cultural capitals that have already hosted this event.
