Santiago do Cacém City Council approved a reduction in its municipal participation in IRS, going from 5% to 4.5%. This measure represents tax relief for taxpayers in the municipality, who will see a small decrease in the percentage of IRS destined to the municipality.
In parallel, the municipality decided to implement Family IMI, a tax benefit aimed at families. This measure aims to support households residing in the municipality through a reduction in the municipal property tax.
Both fiscal measures approved by the Santiago do Cacém local authority should take effect from 2027. Until then, taxpayers will continue to be subject to the rates currently in force.
These decisions were made by Santiago do Cacém City Council and aim to boost the territory and support the municipality's families, in a context of municipal fiscal policy that seeks to balance financial sustainability with the well-being of residents.
