Former President José Sarney was hospitalized this Sunday (13th) in São Luís, Maranhão, after presenting a case of respiratory infection that was diagnosed as pneumonia. Sarney is at UDI Hospital, part of the Rede D'Or network, where he remains under medical supervision.
According to a bulletin released by the hospital on Sunday night, the former president is clinically stable, with controlled blood pressure and breathing in ambient air, without the need for oxygen support. The treatment includes antimicrobials administered intravenously. So far, there is no forecast for discharge.
In a post on social media, Sarney confirmed the hospitalization for examinations and treatment of pneumonia. The former president stated he is stable and thanked the messages of support received.
