The municipality of Guimarães hosted the National Urban Cleaning Meeting, placing quality of life and sustainability at the center of the discussions. The event brought together specialists, local officials and those responsible for waste management and public cleaning to discuss challenges and solutions in this field.
Ricardo Araújo, a prominent figure at the event, defended that Guimarães should be a more environmentally demanding city. He pointed to the need for better public services and greater collective responsibility from citizens in preserving the urban environment.
The local official referred to the title of European Green Capital as a commitment made by the municipality. This recognition implies the implementation of sustainable policies and the creation of conditions for a better quality of life for residents.
