The GNR carried out an operation in the district of Santarém between September 7 and 13, during which 58 infractions related to cargo transport and packaging were detected. In total, the Guard recorded 636 infractions in the traffic area during this operational period.
Among the most frequent infractions, the 73 related to lack of mandatory periodic inspection stand out, 34 for lack of insurance, 32 related to tachographs, 29 for improper use of mobile phone while driving, and 20 for lack or incorrect use of seatbelt and/or child restraint system. There were also 20 infractions for lack of lighting and signaling and 18 for tire anomalies.
During the week, the GNR recorded 89 road accidents in the district of Santarém, which resulted in one dead, four seriously injured and 34 lightly injured. As part of this operational activity, 33 arrests were made, of which 11 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 10 for driving without a legal license.
