The Associação Desportiva de Requeixo held this weekend the official presentation of its senior football team, at an event that brought together athletes, club officials, members, families and the local community at the club's pitch. The session marked the start of the new sporting season and was held with great participation from the parish.
The highlight of the initiative was the charity match organized in partnership with Cáritas, which aimed to support families in vulnerable situations. The game brought together the A.D. Requeixo team and a selection of invited players, in a match marked by good spirits and a sense of mutual help.
The charitable action included the collection of food items, donations and spontaneous contributions, which will be delivered to Cáritas to reinforce the social support provided in the region. The organizers highlighted that sport plays a fundamental role in mobilizing the community and promoting values such as solidarity and social responsibility.
The club's board stated that it intends to continue developing activities that combine sport and social action, reinforcing the importance of initiatives that promote well-being and support for local institutions in the municipality of Aveiro.
