Benfica hosted and defeated Gil Vicente 3-1 on Sunday at the Estádio da Luz, in a match where the eagles had to overcome some obstacles to secure another three points in the league. Marco Silva's side managed to react after conceding a goal to the opposition and took control of the match, completing the comeback in the second half.
António Raminhos used his usual sense of humor to analyze some moments of the match. The commentator noted that the expression "final third of the pitch" should refer to the willingness to start praying an Ave Maria every time the opponents approached Benfica's defense. Raminhos also praised Prestianni and, especially, Samuel Soares, who was decisive for the victory in the end.
Sandra Ferreira, daughter of legendary Eusébio, also commented on the game, highlighting the way the team managed to react after conceding. According to the former five-time champion star's daughter, Benfica entered the match as the dominant side, despite Gil Vicente's opening goal. In the second half, the team clearly showed the intention to win, which resulted in the comeback confirmed by the final score of 3-1.
