In an interview with the Empodera Samba Oficial profile on Instagram, he stated that he talks with the singer practically every single day since she accepted the invitation to reign over the school.
Machado praised the artist profusely, describing her as an incredible and fantastic person. According to him, since the first contact, Anitta always showed concern for the history of the drum section and Grande Rio, in addition to being extremely communicative and having come to add to the school.
During last Carnival, Virginia Fonseca was in charge of the percussionists as samba queen. At that time, Mestre Fafá chose not to get involved in the controversies surrounding the influencer's reign, avoiding comments about Virginia's period leading the school.
