Catalan filmmaker Isabel Coixet participated in a tribute at the Cervantes Institute, where she left a tribute to the analog world through her contribution to the Letter Box, a project that consists of storing objects and messages that will be reopened in half a century, that is, 50 years.
During the event, Coixet harshly criticized both artificial intelligence and global ecocide, expressing her concern about the direction society is taking regarding these issues.
The filmmaker donated several objects that she herself designated as "anachronistic," meaning items that represent an era prior to digitalization and that contrast with the current technological world that she condemns.
Isabel Coixet's Letter Box will remain sealed until 2074, when it will be reopened as a record of the thoughts and values of a cultural figure from the beginning of the 21st century.
