Chen Yixin made this statement during a Chinese Communist Party study session dedicated to security in artificial intelligence. The official emphasized the need to establish protective measures for the technology.
The concerns about AI are shared by both China and the United States, although for potentially different reasons. Both countries recognize the risks that the technology poses for political, social and technological stability.
This request comes at a time when the technological race between the two largest world economies is intensifying, with both powers trying to balance innovation with national security.
