The National Education Council (CNE) sent to the Ministry of Education (MEC) the first norms for the use of artificial intelligence in Brazilian education, from basic education to the university level. The rules were sent for approval by the federal government.
The norms follow principles already adopted in other countries to regulate the technology. The main objective is that artificial intelligence functions as a support tool for both students and teachers.
The document establishes that AI should not replace teachers and students in tasks considered essential for learning. The technology is limited to a complementary role in the educational process.
