LG responded to a new controversy related to the privacy of its Smart TVs. The South Korean company categorically denied that its smart TVs are spying on users, after suspicions arose about data collection practices.
An investigation raised concerns about the possibility of some LG models collecting audio and information about devices near the televisions. The suspicions focused particularly on voice recognition features and device connectivity capabilities.
The company clarified that the data collection features of its Smart TVs are used exclusively to improve user experience and provide personalized services. LG emphasized that all collected data is processed in accordance with established privacy policies and in compliance with applicable legislation.
This is not the first time that smart televisions have faced privacy-related criticism. The case raises again questions about the transparency of technology companies and the need for consumers to be more informed about the data their devices collect.
