ICT.R offers robotic surgery modalities in Urology

oglobo15 September 2026 at 00:46

The Instituto de Cirurgia Robótica do Triângulo (ICR.T), in partnership with Hospital UMC (Uberlândia Medical Center), launched the Robotic Surgery Course and Certification in Urology, exclusively aimed at urologist physicians interested in training, improvement, and certification in the field. The program was structured to offer different levels of training, following the professional from the fundamentals of robotic surgery to console practice, according to the chosen modality.

The course is coordinated by urologists Dr. Victor Hugo Borges Silva and Dr. Leandro Alves de Oliveira, with the participation of preceptor physicians who have experience in robotic surgery. The practical activities will be carried out at Hospital UMC, in Uberlândia, which has the Vinci robotic platform and adequate infrastructure for training and simulation.

According to Dr. Victor Hugo Borges Silva, the training of a robotic surgeon needs to involve different stages before working on the console. The program was developed to ensure that professionals go through a gradual learning process, acquiring the necessary skills at each stage before advancing to practice with the robotic equipment.

Why this matters

Urologists in the Uberlândia region and the Triângulo Mineiro now have access to certified training in robotic surgery without the need to travel to major centers, expanding their professional opportunities. The program represents an advancement in local medical training and strengthens the region's health infrastructure by preparing professionals to use cutting-edge technology in patient treatment.
