A sudden illness situation mobilized firefighters, Civil Protection elements and the Portuguese Air Force in a rescue operation carried out in Serra da Estrela. The incident took place on Friday, as reported by the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Manteigas.
The victim presented severe respiratory difficulties, which prompted the request for intervention by authorities. Authorities were activated to perform the emergency rescue in the Serra da Estrela area.
The operation involved coordination between the volunteer firefighters of Manteigas, Civil Protection elements and the Portuguese Air Force. Following the rescue procedures, the victim was transported to a hospital unit to receive medical assistance.
