The village of Cossourado, located in the municipality of Paredes de Coura, implemented measures to reinforce support for pilgrims following the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela. The initiative included the installation of interpretive signs along the route and the creation of a digital platform called viacossourado.pt.
The main objective of the project is to inform and welcome walkers, providing them with knowledge about the history and heritage of the territory they cross. The region has been traversed by pilgrims for centuries, making it a territory with a strong connection to the Jacobean route.
This initiative represents an effort by the local community to enhance the historical heritage of the village and improve the experience of travelers passing through Cossourado during their journey to Santiago de Compostela.
