The Federal Police informed the Supreme Federal Court that the original data from investigated person Daniel Vorcaro's phone are preserved and intact. The response addressed a request by Minister Edson Fachin, who had given the corporation 24 hours to explain how and where the material was stored. The PF guaranteed that the original files never left the institution's headquarters and continue with security seals.
The corporation explained that the material sent to Minister André Mendonça's office in March of this year is only a backup copy. Mendonça himself informed the STF that this file remains sealed and serves only as counterevidence, in case the original is lost.
The question about the files arose after Ministers Cristiano Zanin, Alexandre de Moraes, and Gilmar Mendes also requested access to the data. All of them wanted access to the content of Vorcaro's phone.
The Federal Police stated that it has the technical capacity to send identical copies to the other offices that requested the material, thus maintaining the integrity of the original data.
