A water burst in the supply network caused a large water jet in the centre of Porto Santo, on the island of Madeira. The incident caused significant visual impact in the central area of the locality.
The local fire brigade was not called to the incident. The intervention in the water supply network is the exclusive competence of ARM (Águas e Resíduos da Madeira), the entity responsible for managing the supply system in the region.
The Public Security Police (PSP) is at the scene, possibly to ensure safety and control traffic in the area affected by the burst.
