The Ukrainian railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, issued an alert about a "systematic attack" on the railway network across the country. The statement, quoted by the France-Presse news agency, indicates that the company's monitoring centre and its staff are on maximum alert in response to this threat.
Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, revealed that a Russian drone struck a train in the vicinity of the border with Poland. This attack is part of a broader wave of attacks on the country's railway infrastructure.
Ukrzaliznytsia warned of significant delays to railway services as a consequence of these attacks. The company is monitoring the situation in real time and coordinating emergency responses to minimise the impact on operations.
