Sam Altman ruled out the possibility of an OpenAI stock market listing in 2026, stating that this would not be the appropriate time for the operation. The statements were reported by Bloomberg, and the chief executive justified the decision with the need to address the security risks associated with artificial intelligence.
This position comes after Altman, Dario Amodei, leader of Anthropic, and Elon Musk, founder of xAI, publicly advocated for a slowdown in technology development. The three executives warned about the risk of losing control over artificial intelligence systems, demonstrating a joint position among competing companies in the sector.
OpenAI confidentially filed the necessary documentation for an initial public offering in June but left the operation's timeline open. The company did not comment on Altman's statements regarding the postponement.
