GNR is warning the population about increasingly sophisticated fraud strategies, which have moved from in-person visits at the doorstep to mobile phones and other digital means. This change in methodology by criminals requires constant adaptation of the security advice provided to potential victims.
In Porto, approximately 1,800 crimes related to these fraud schemes were registered in a six-month period, demonstrating the scale of the problem in that region. This high number of occurrences reinforces the need to intensify prevention and awareness-raising among the population.
GNR is bringing security advice directly to the population, seeking to inform citizens on how to identify and avoid these frauds. The goal is to reduce the number of victims through clear and accessible communication about the methods used by scammers.
