The number of dead in the collapse of a 10-story building still under construction in the Penha neighborhood, in the East Zone of São Paulo, rose to three people in the early hours of this Saturday (12). The identified fatal victims are a pregnant woman, a woman and a man.
Two survivors were rescued from the rubble with minor injuries, including bruises and abrasions: an adult man and a female child. Both were taken to the Tatuapé Emergency Room.
The Fire Department is working with the hypothesis of eight total victims. On site, 70 firefighters are working, along with 22 vehicles and a search and rescue dog, in addition to support machinery. Rescue work continues in progress.
