In her speech, Ana Gomes expressed concern about the apathy of Portuguese youth, pointing out that this absence of citizen mobilization contributes to the deterioration of democratic life in the country. The former ambassador also warned about the dangers of artificial intelligence, considering that this technology represents an additional threat to democratic values and civic participation.
The diplomat also directed severe criticism at the Portuguese government, denouncing the degradation of public services in Portugal as a result of inadequate policies. Furthermore, Ana Gomes harshly attacked the lack of ethics in fighting corruption, considering that this issue remains insufficiently addressed by the authorities.
