Botafogo presented, on Saturday, Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech as their main signing of the transfer window, which closed on the previous Friday. The presentation took place on the pitch at Nilton Santos stadium, before the match against Bragantino in the Brazilian Championship. The player took to the field and had direct contact with the black-and-white fans, who had prepared a special welcome for the new signing.
As soon as Ziyech entered the field, Botafogo fans raised a 3D banner with the player's name and an image of him wearing the black-and-white shirt. The midfielder also passed through a corridor formed by young fans, who carried flags of Brazil and Morocco. At Galeão Airport on the previous Tuesday, Ziyech had already been received by the black-and-white fans, who sang his name.
The player was announced by Botafogo on the previous Thursday, after passing medical exams and signing a contract until the end of 2028. At Botafogo, Ziyech will wear shirt number 22. Although he arrived without medical issues, the club is working behind the scenes with the possibility that the player may need up to two weeks of training at CT Lonier to be ready to play.
