This position is contained in a statement titled "Serving is doing more", signed by Miguel Silva, president of the Lagos CDS-PP Political Committee, which proposes recovering the so-called "principle of also": the willingness to provide additional help to those seeking State services.
Miguel Silva presents concrete examples of this approach, such as explaining the next steps to avoid unnecessary trips or directing citizens to the appropriate entity when an issue does not fall under that service's responsibilities. The leader also includes street cleaning among examples of tasks that should be carried out with zeal and dedication, noting that this does not mean exceeding rules or assuming responsibilities that do not belong to each function.
The local branch president considers the image of a careless or uncommitted civil servant unfair, recalling professionals who daily carry out their duties with competence and dedication. He argues that it is necessary to demand professionalism and responsibility, but also to recognize and value those who make serving others a true mission. In his view, the way each person is received can determine whether they leave a service feeling like just another number or, on the contrary, heard and treated with dignity.
Miguel Silva extends the appeal to businesses, associations and families, proposing greater willingness to help even after the initial obligation has been fulfilled. "Doing what is our obligation is responsibility. Also doing what we can to help others is service", concludes the Lagos CDS-PP leader.
