The National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP) expects to have the final version of the Local Finance Law by the end of the year. This is one of the main goals of the association for the local government sector.
The president of ANMP revealed that, in addition to the Local Finance Law, the Statute of Local Elected Officials is also one of his priorities. This law aims to regulate the rights and duties of political leaders at the local level.
Another priority mentioned by the president of ANMP is the Local Electoral Law, which aims to update the rules regarding elections in Portuguese municipalities.
These three legislative pieces are considered fundamental by ANMP for the functioning and organization of local authorities in Portugal.
