Gabriel Varela, rider of the Cantanhede Cycling/VESAM team, is in the lead before the final stage of the 26th Grande Prémio Alves Barbosa, a cycling competition.
The second stage took place this Saturday, linking Montemor-o-Velho to Águeda over a route of 83.5 kilometres.
Gabriel Varela managed to win this stage alone, meaning no other rider accompanied him at the finish.
With this victory, the rider took the lead of the general classification of the event, now positioning himself as the favourite for the title before the final stage.
