FC Porto remains leader and 100% victorious

dnoticias.pt12 September 2026 at 20:04

FC Porto remained the sole leader of the 2026/27 Portuguese football I League, by defeating Casa Pia 4-1 in Rio Maior, in the sixth round. The 'blue and white' team thus continued with 100% wins in the competition.

Casa Pia, last in the standings, opened the scoring at 43 minutes, through Henrique Araújo, who converted a penalty. The 'dragons' reacted still in the first half and equalized at 45+3 minutes, through André Silva.

In the second half, Porto achieved the rout with goals from Kiwior at 60 minutes, Borja Saínz at 66 minutes and Santiago Giménez, completing the comeback and consolidating the leadership of the competition.

Why this matters

Football fans following Portuguese football track the title race, and FC Porto, as defending champions, continues alone at the top with perfect efficiency, which increases the expectation about a possible championship fight. Casa Pia, bottom of the league, suffers another defeat that worsens their position in the standings.
