On Saturday, Brazil defeated Chile 3-0, with scores of 25/13, 30/28 and 25/11, remaining undefeated in the competition. Argentina also has four wins after beating Venezuela 3-0, with scores of 25/23, 25/20 and 25/21.
In the standings, Brazil leads with 12 points, while Argentina appears in second place with 11 points. The difference is explained by the scoring system: wins by 3-0 or 3-1 are worth 3 points, while wins by 3-2 are worth only 2 points, and Argentina obtained one victory in the tie break.
The South American Championship has a round-robin system with six teams playing each other in a single round, with no elimination phase. After five rounds, whoever has the most points secures the continental title and the spot at LA-2028. Brazil is considered the favorite in this Sunday's confrontation.
