JPP wants solution for access to Via Rápida in Água de Pena area

Funchal Notícias12 September 2026 at 19:07

The Parliamentary Group of Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) considers "pressing" the realization of an access solution to the Via Rápida in the Água de Pena area, specifically in the direction Água de Pena – Machico. The party is pressuring the regional authorities to proceed with this road infrastructure.

JPP recalls that in December 2023, the Regional Government made public that it had validated a solution presented by a Commission to resolve this access issue. However, apparently the solution has not yet been implemented, which leads the party to reiterate its urgency.

The party states that the Água de Pena area needs adequate access to the Via Rápida to improve mobility and safety for residents and users of that area of Madeira. The lack of this infrastructure affects the local population and the development of the region.

With this intervention, JPP intends to pressure the Regional Executive to rapidly proceed with the implementation of the solution that has already been validated, emphasizing that the problem is known and the resolution was identified over a year ago.
